Principal

Jay Scott has a well-rounded career in real estate development with experience in retail, mixed-use, office and residential. An industry veteran, Scott has been responsible for the development of over twelve million square feet of retail and office space and in excess of 1,500 units of luxury apartments and condominium properties. His experience and tenant relationships have played a pivotal role in establishing Solomon Real Estate Group as one of the upper Midwest’s strongest and most formidable real estate development companies.

Prior to his creation of Solomon, Scott was a Partner with North American Properties, where he founded the company’s Minneapolis office. Prior to joining North American Properties, Scott served as the Director of Real Estate Development for the Opus Group of Companies, where he was responsible for the retail development activities in multiple markets across the United States.

Scott is an active member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA) where he has served two terms on the Board of Directors and was the association’s President in 2007. Scott is also active with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and is a frequent guest speaker on a variety of industry related topics.

Andy McConville

Andy McConville has an extensive and broad knowledge in retail leasing and sales. With over 25 years of experience in real estate, Andy has an intuitive perspective of the retail industry. He has been involved in more than 5 million square feet of retail transactions during his career. His understanding of owners’ and tenants’ needs and objectives has enabled him to develop great relationships throughout the industry. Andy’s expertise extends to all property types, from free-standing buildings to community centers.

Before joining Solomon, McConville spent over 23 years at CBRE, Inc., where he was a retail broker that specialized in representing both tenants and landlords. His honest approach and his extensive market knowledge is greatly appreciated by owners and users alike.  He is an active member Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA) and The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Theresa Hart

Vice President of Leasing

Theresa Hart brings extensive knowledge of retail leasing with more than 32 years of experience in working with owners, developers and retailers to provide leasing, strategic planning, market research and site selection.

Before joining Solomon, Hart has had the opportunity to work with Kraus Anderson Realty, Madison Marquette Realty and Heritage Property Investment Trust. Working on behalf of owners and developers, Theresa identifies potential tenants, negotiates contracts and works on planning, design and layout of new, existing and remodeled projects.

Theresa is a member of Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Minnesota Commercial Association of Real Estate/Realtors (MNCAR), Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Badland Board of Realtors – North Dakota and Minnesota Area Association of Realtors. She holds a Real Estate Broker License in Minnesota & North Dakota.

Development Partner

As a Development Partner Brian Ertel brings over 20 years of commercial and multi-family real estate experience to the table.  With his background as property owner, manager, broker and consultant he understands the often  times competing interests at play that need to be managed to take a project from permit to occupancy.

Brian has served the needs of clients as a broker for over a decade including helping manage the acquisition and development of manufacturing facilities in the precision machining and injection molding industries.  He also has over 15 years experience in the manufactured housing industry and is quickly becoming an expert in the Opportunity Zones with a recent project taking first prize at the 2019 Be Inspired Opportunity Zone Summit.

Brian is a member of Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR), Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association (MMHA), and the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).  He holds a real estate license for Minnesota and Wisconsin.
